Hooge Crater Cemetery, Belgium

According to records, including those of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, John Weatherley was killed on 8th March, 1918 and was buried in a cemetery near Ypres. However the diary of the 19th London battalion shows that on that date the battalion, which was part of 141 Brigade, 47th Division, were undergoing training at Grazing Camp in Lechelle, much further south near Bapaume in France. Either the date of his death was recorded incorrectly or he was attached to another unit at the time, but as yet there is no evidence for either case.
